Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from March of 2023.
The win also signifies he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's retrieving approach and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an better serving game.
He came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early-game chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, he secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
